High School boys basketball state champions

Four teams were named the state champions on Saturday, March 23 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Triton took on Borden to start off the day of state championship title games. In a close match, Triton defeated Borden 55-50 and became the division 1A state champions.

For the class 2A division, Bowman Academy beat Linton-Stockton 86-73. In the 3A division, Greensburg defeated Fort Wayne Concordia in overtime 73-70.

The final game of the day was the 4A class division. In a close game, Carmel won the state title after beating Indianapolis Cathedral 57-53. This is the third state title for the Carmel Greyhounds since 1977. Carmel's Michael Volovic was awarded the Trester Mental Attitude Award.
